BBC: How can we make politics truly representative?

On Wednesday 20th January 2015, the BBC held a special day of coverage looking at the issue of Democracy today – including how much the UK’s elected members of parliament truly represent the people.

Juliet Gilkes Romero has written a new work “Upper cut” currently showing at London’s Southwark Playhouse looking at the issue of getting black and other ethnic minorities into politics. She spoke to BBC4 and World News today presenter, Philippa Thomas.
